A prospective client should not leave a confidential message on my voice mail or send confidential information by email.  No attorney-client relationship is formed until I have spoken to the prospective client, determined that there is no conflict with an existing client, and the prospective client has agreed to the terms of the representation.  After an attorney-client realationship has been formed, voice mail and email may be freely used, of course.
