Education:
Graduate of Belle Fourche S.D. High School, 1969. Attended Black Hills State University receiving Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics, History and Political Science, 1976. Graduated Creighton University School of Law, Omaha, Nebraska, receiving Juris Doctorate, 1979.

South Dakota Bar Association; Committee on Gaming (Chair 2001-2003); Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section; West River Estate Planning Council. Admitted to practice in all courts in the State of South Dakota, United States District Court, United States Tax Court, United States Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Served on the Butte County Board of County Commissioners from 1997 - 2001 and as Chairperson of the Butte County Board of County Commissioners from 1999-2001.
