If you have a Commercial Driver's License, (CDL), then you are no longer eligible for Defensive Driving or Deferred Disposition.  You now have two options; pay the fine or contest your ticket. 

Because many CDL drivers will lose their job if they pay a moving violation, you should consider contesting the offense.  Even if you live in another State and do not believe you could ever come to court to contest a traffic matter, it is advisable to contest the ticket.  It is possible that I can still get the ticket dismissed.  If you do contest your ticket, then you need an experienced attorney who understands the traffic court system in Austin, Texas.
