Among my professional accomplishments are the following:

I won a $5.5 million verdict against Pacific Gas & Electric Company for delivering defective electric power to an automated mushroom growing facility in San Luis Obispo County; I collected the judgment for my client after confirmation on an appeal which I also handled.

I won a $1.6 million award in an arbitration proceeding involving dissolution of a law partnership.

I settled a will contest for $1.5 million after obtaining reversal on appeal of an adverse trial court judgment.

I won a $965,000 verdict in a joint venture dispute involving a mortgage banking company in Sacramento; I settled the case for $1.3 million while the jury was deliberating punitive damages.

I won reversal on appeal of a verdict for plaintiff in an asbestos personal injury case, resulting in the frequently cited opinion in Smith v. ACandS (1994) 31 Cal.App.4th 77.

I won a rare defense verdict on behalf of an asbestos insulation contractor in a mesothelioma personal injury case.

I won a $2 million fraud and breach of fiduciary duty judgment for the elderly owner of a San Francisco neighborhood hotel after trial in a bankruptcy adversary proceeding.

I represented the owner-developer of the Bakersfield Convention Center Hotel in a lender liability action against a construction lender S & L, until the RTC took control of the S & L and obtained dismissal of the action under the D'Oench-Duhme doctrine.
