Frequently Asked Questions

What are your office hours?  Our office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays.  Often, to accommodate clients, we meet with clients after office hours or on weekends.

Do you provide free consultations?  Yes.  To determine whether we can help you, we provide free consultations.  Typically the consultations last between 30 minutes and one hour.  Also, for some cases, before scheduling a consultation, we will discuss the case with you over the telephone to determine whether to schedule a consultation.

Do you accept credit cards?  At the present time, we do not accept credit cards.

Do you respond to email inquiries?  We attempt to respond to all email inquiries, but given the volume of email, cannot guarantee an email response.  Please send any emails to the firm email address, andrewsandhensleigh@earthlink.net, and please be certain to include your contact information, including your name, address, telephone number(s), and email address, together with a summary of the reason for contacting us.

Do you accept cases only on an hourly basis, or on a contingency basis also?  We accept cases both on an hourly basis and on a contingency basis, depending primarily both on the nature of the case and on the client's preference.  We also handle some cases on a hybrid hourly/contingency basis, where the client pays a reduced hourly charge, and upon obtaining a recovery in the case, the client also pays on a reduced contingency rate.

What do you charge for your hourly services?  For hourly cases, we charge an hourly rate for our services, billed on a monthly basis.  The hourly rate depends on the nature and complexity of the legal matter, and on the particular attorney or other professional primarily handling that matter.  In addition, our hourly clients reimburse us each month for the out-of pocket expenses we incur in handling their case.

What do you charge for your contingency services?  For contingency cases, we are paid only when we obtain a recovery for our client.  At that time, we receive a percentage of the recovery as compensation for our services.  The amount of the contingency depends upon the nature and complexity of the case.  In addition, we receive reimbursement from any recovery for the out-of pocket expenses we incur in handling their case.

Can you give me examples of the types of cases you handle on an hourly basis?  Typically, we handle business litigation cases, health care litigation, physician privileging, physician contracts, and physician licensing on an hourly basis.

Can you give me examples of the types of cases you handle on a contingency basis?  Typically, we handle cases where we sue to recover damages for wrongdoing, such as cases for violation of the False Claims Act, for discrimination or wrongful termination in employment, for elder abuse, for insurance bad faith, for legal malpractice, for medical antitrust, for personal injury, for products liability or unsafe products, for defective construction, for toxic torts, and for wrongful death on a contingency or on a hybrid hourly/contingency basis.  Without a contingency fee arrangement, many persons harmed by wrongdoers lack the financial means to pursue justice.
