Cary R. Alburn III, P.C.

General Information
LOCATION: The office is located in Old Town Square, in Historic Downtown Fort Collins, Colorado. It is on the second floor, but it is fully accessible via two elevators. Check the Directions page, or if you prefer, accurate directions will be given at the time an appointment is made. Be sure to mention any need for the elevators, because the directions are slightly different.

PARKING: Parking is difficult in downtown Ft. Collins. I recommend the city-owned parking garage (the Old Town Parking Structure) at the corner of Mountain and Remington as being both conveniently located and inexpensive. The newer city-owned parking garage off LaPorte between College and Mason is open and is also conveniently located and inexpensive. If you want to include shopping or one of the many restaurants in the area in your trip to Old Town for your appointment, it is worth paying the fee at either of these facilities. Parking is free on the street, but the 2 hour limit is strictly enforced, including an escalating fines structure that if left unpaid will result in "booting".  Caution: The city also enforces a "block rule" which prohibits a vehicle that has left from parking again in the same block within 4 hours; a "block" is defined as both sides of the street bounded by the streets at either end.

OFFICE HOURS: Normal office hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. through 5 p.m., but all appointments must be prearranged. Appointments will be specially arranged to accommodate clients who cannot meet during those hours. House calls can be made if physical needs of the client make normal office appointments difficult. Special arrangements can be made for clients residing outside the Fort Collins, Colorado, area. Phone calls are accepted throughout the business day, beginning approximately 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: The voice mail automatically answers whether the phone is busy or unanswered. Most of the time if I am not in the office, however, I have my cell phone with me, which automatically rings from the office number. It is a digital style phone, so that conversations on it are considered very secure; special equipment not generally available to the public is necessary to listen in on digital conversations. However, no radio transmitter should be considered 100% secure, nor is a land-line telephone, so if you wish to keep your conversation guaranteed confidential, you should meet with me in person.

MESSAGES: Voice mail will be returned normally within the next business day, if at all possible. Email will be typically returned in the evenings, normally by the end of the next business day. CAUTION: The voice mail is a telephone company product and is relatively secure, but subject to the vagaries of technology. Although only I know the password, I understand that phone company employees are able to bypass the password for access to the messages. Email is not considered secure. You should take care not to unnecessarily disclose private, confidential matters via email.

HEARING IMPAIRED: For communication with hearing impaired clients, I have a TDD/TTY. Please give me enough time to turn it on and attach the handset. If I have forwarded the phone to my home or if I am picking up calls on my cell phone, I cannot communicate by TDD. If you are calling with a TDD and I hang up on you without responding by TDD, please call back at a later time, because I have answered away from the TDD. If you call and get the voice mail message, after the voice mail message completes (approximately 30 seconds--watch your signal light), leave a TDD message, and I will return the call as soon as possible.
