Hon. Samuel Thurston Towell is a lawyer practicing litigation, civil litigation, appellate litigation. Samuel received a B.S. degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2000, and has been licensed for 21 years. Samuel practices in Richmond, VA.
Mr. Towell is licensed to practice in all state courts in Virginia, the U.S. District courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, where he serves on the Appellate Practice Subcommittee; the Virginia Bar Association where he servces as a committee chairman of the Young Lawyers Division; and the Richmond Bar Association, where he serves on the Young Lawyers Section Executive Committee. In addition, Mr. Towell is active in the National Moot Court program. He is also an Education Counselor with the MIT Alumni of Richmond and a grader for the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners. Mr. Towell is a member of the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership, class of 2010, at the University of Virginia.
Mr. Towell graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a B.S. in mechanical engineering and a minor in economics. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia, where he served as a counsel in the university's Honor System and on the managing board of the Journal of Law & Politics. In addition, Mr. Towell served as the senior legal fellow to Governor Warner's Counsel.
