Firm Profile:
Edwin C. Stone began his practice in 1964 with the firm of Dalton, Poff & Turk. He became a partner in the firm in 1965. Those partners included John N. Dalton, who became Governor of Virginia; Richard H. Poff, who became a Justice of the Virginia Supreme Court; and James C. Turk, who became a Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. That firm specialized in insurance defense litigation. In recent years, the Firm has engaged in a more general practice but still concentrates in litigation. It also does a significant amount of health care law, real estate and estate planning and has a practice profile consistent with a general practice in a small city.
