Leave a review about your experience with this lawyer. If you need clear, concise, and easy to understand instructions for a divorce, I highly recommend Mary Commander in Norfolk. She and the entire office have unbelievable quick and accurate responses. Communications throughout the office were impeccable. What could have been a very long drawn out contested divorce ended up being a non-contested one thanks to much of her feedback, based on her vast experience. I will always be grateful for her guidance and prompt, professional responses.
I have known Mary for over 20 years. Her expertise along with her savvy skills serve well within the practice of law. Mary is an extremely kind hearted person open to any given situation. I would highly recommend her firm any given day.
Mary is very honest and forthcoming about the local court system and its many shortcomings. Her years of experience as an attorney and substitute judge are invaluable. Mary works hard for her clients.
Mary Commander provided consistently excellent representation throughout an extended custody litigation, so that the court was provided with clear and abundant evidence to make an informed and sensible decision regarding the children involved.
Mary is by far the best attorney in the area, perhaps the state. She is an experienced, caring lady who knows the law inside and out and gives every client 110%.
Excellent experience in all respects.
Mary is brilliant. She has a solution for every problem, and really knows her way around. :)
As a divorce attorney, Mary was diligent, competent and a great negotiator. As a representative for fathers' rights and fighting for my rights as a father and how much I had to pay, she wasn't great. Facts pertinent to the child support case were ignored and less than 6 months after the order for child support was made, I am being faced with having to declare bankruptcy due to her failure to fight my case.
A few years ago Ms Commander agreed to represent me in my divorce case. She set up a mediation with opposing attorney in Ms Commander's office. There was no communication with me up to the day of the mediation. When I arrived at the appointment Commander informed me that Tatiana Mendez would be representing me. I had one initial conversation with Commander before the meeting and was only able to get a hold of her a few times via email. Even then she was not very receptive or informative. Back to Ms Mendez and the mediation. Ms Mendez did not speak for me at all! I may as well have been alone in the mediation! It was terrible. I was essentially homeless at the time and needed help/representation and they set me up for failure. I literally lost everything. The worst part about it all is how much my kids have suffered. Commander took thousands of dollars (that I had borrowed) from me for that and for some reason is still trying to take thousands more! Be careful.
