The Firm manages a general civil trial practice with a special expertise in insurance and insurance defense litigation. The insurance segment involves matters on both primary and excess insurance levels. Insurance matters handled by the firm include primary, excess, subrogation and surplus lines cases, with an emphasis on the defense of personal injury and insurance coverage claims. More particularly, the firm handles a substantial defense practice, automobile, truck and construction accident cases, premises liability, ERISA, errors and omissions claims, legal malpractice, products liability, first and third party claims, bad faith, commercial litigation and general liability matters for its clients.

Bush & Ramirez, L.L.C. strives to give clients an exceptional level of legal services in an ethical, friendly and professional atmosphere. Our most important goal is meeting the clients' needs. This includes returning phone calls immediately, reporting on files regularly, following litigation guidelines, using the same lawyer on a file from beginning to end, and keeping clients promptly informed of any significant changes in the law to minimize or eliminate any risk.

The firm maintains the most advanced computer library available through WESTLAW, which allows for the most up-to-date legal research with typically no outside computer charge. The library includes an extensive collection of insurance materials, treatises, and texts. The firm also keeps a brief bank and legal research file to increase productivity and efficiency.

Keith Wier (Partner) admitted to bar, 1986, Texas. Education: University of Texas at Austin (B.A., 1983); University of Houston Law Center (J.D., 1986). KEITH WIER (Keith Wier, PLLC) received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1983 from the University of Texas at Austin and his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1986. He is admitted to practice before the Texas Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and all four United States District Courts in Texas. He is also a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association, and ACA International.

Mr. Wier has been certified as a specialist in Consumer and Commercial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His practice focuses on the defense of individual and class action suits under state and federal consumer statutes, professional liability defense, and compliance issues for members of the collection industry. He has substantial experience defending collection agencies, law firms, debt buyers, and creditors in consumer litigation in Texas.

Mr. Wier is a frequent lecturer and author on defense and compliance issues facing the collection, credit and debt buying industries. He is a past Board of Director member for ACA International, a national trade group focusing its efforts on the assistance of the credit, third-party debt collection and debt buying industries. Mr. Wier is also the past chairman of the Members' Attorney Program, an internal committee within ACA International.
