LYMAN, TWINING, WEINBERG & FERRELL, P.C., is a medium-sized, civil trial firm located in downtown Houston, Texas. The firm has its roots in the defense of personal-injury cases. The nature of the cases tried by the firm has changed over the years to encompass almost all areas of civil litigation, including complex commercial cases and professional liability. The firm continues to handle personal-injury claims from simple slip-and-fall claims to catastrophic chemical plant explosion cases. Seven of the firm's nine shareholders are certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law. Three of the members of the firm are also certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law. The appellate department head is triple Board Certified. The firm enjoys a reputation in the Texas legal community for hard work, competency at the courthouse, and a solid, ethical commitment to the legal profession. Seven of the firm's attorneys have been inducted into the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). One shareholder is a Diplomat member of ABOTA, a membership status achieved only by trial lawyers who have tried a minimum of 100 civil-jury trials to a verdict. Organized in 1952 to defend policyholders of major insurance company clients, the firm's client base has continually expanded and now includes major corporations, closely held corporations, individuals, and multiple insurance company clients. While defense litigation comprises the majority of our practice, the firm also handles a number of plaintiff personal-injury and commercial lawsuits. From auto wrecks to slip-and-falls to wrongful terminations to bad faith to legal malpractice to complex medical products liability, the firm's practice has continually expanded to cover all areas of the ever-expanding universe of damage actions. | | Firm Size: 15 | Representative Clients:
