Biography
Member, Board of Editors, Southwestern Law Journal, 1976-1977; Listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" in Tax Law, 1997-1998 edition. Serves as President of the Una Chapman Cox Foundation, has served as chairman of the board of directors of South Texas Public Broadcasting System, Inc., and as a member of the boards of directors of the South Texas Institute for the Arts, the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra, Robert L. Moore Community Center, Ada Wilson Children's Center for Rehabilitation, Inc., the YMCA and other civic organizations. He has spoken regularly on federal tax topics at seminars sponsored by the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and a member and former chairman of the Natural Resources Committee of the Tax Section of both the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. He is currently a member of both of the Planning Committee of the Annual Taxation Conference of the University of Texas, and the Planning Committee of the Parker Fielder Bi-Annual Conference on Oil & Gas Taxation sponsored by the University of Texas. Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel. Elected Member, American Law Institute, 2008.
