Weir & Partners LLP also represents corporations, partnerships and other business ventures in a variety of business transactions including asset sales/acquisitions, mergers, leveraged buy-outs, corporate reorganizations, stock-swaps, ESOPS and private placements. The Firm has expertise in performing internal corporate investigations including experience in representing a special litigation committee regarding shareholder derivative demands.

In the area of creditors' rights and bankruptcy, members of the Firm have represented financial institutions in matters of national and local significance. Also, Weir & Partners has substantial expertise in representing commercial debtors, creditors committees, purchasers and litigants in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases throughout the Mid-Atlantic states. Additionally, the firm has been counsel to trustees in Chapter 11 and 7 cases in Delaware and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

In the area of consumer lending, members of the Firm have been involved in a wide range of commercial transactions, in terms of both the size of the transaction and the nature of collateral. While the Firm has handled a number of transactions involving significant dollar amounts, it also handles many transactions in the middle market lending range.

In the area of consumer lending, members of the Firm have represented financial institutions in creating new financial products, assuming compliance with disclosure laws and advising on deposit and loan services.
