Education: St. Joseph's University (B.A., 1988); West Virginia University (J.D., 1991). Chris Heavens was born and raised in an Irish American middle class family in the suburbs of Philadelphia. His parents, Jim and Dolly, instilled in Chris from an early age the importance of qualities such as hard work, education and being there for family and friends in a time of need. Chris was the youngest of 4 children. Chris' sister, Ellie, is a Registered Nurse. His brother Jim is a U.S. Postal Inspector and his brother Dan is a high school teacher and coach. Chris' grandfather, Harry McDevitt, lived with the Heavens family for Chris' entire life and helped Chris see that men who smile, laugh and show kindness and compassion to others are not weak, but actually strong and secure.
