The firm's origins date back to 1877 with the admission to the Court of Common Pleas of Bucks County of Hugh B. Eastburn, whose great-grandson represents the fourth generation of the family to be a shareholder. The firm's early partners served as models for some of the characters of Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist James Gould Cozzens. Eastburn and Gray is presently the largest firm in Doylestown, the county seat of Bucks County. The location of its Doylestown office across the street from the Courthouse facilitates its Bucks County litigation practice. In 2003, it opened an office in Blue Bell, Montgomery County. The Blue Bell office is strategically located in Whitpain Township, a prime location for both corporations and residences, with ready access to the area's key highways.
