Fred Levitt (Partner) born Toronto; admitted to bar, 1966, Ontario. Education: University of Toronto (B.A., 1961); Osgoode Hall Law School (LL.B., 1964). FRED LEVITT B.A., L.L.B. Since first opening his law office in Etobicoke, Ontario in 1966, Fred Levitt has focused primarily in real estate, wills and estates, corporate law and small business law. Highly experienced in drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, discretionary trusts and other estate planning documents, Fred helps make the process simple to understand and manageable to implement. Fred graduated from the University of Toronto in 1961, and Osgoode Hall Law School in 1964. He has wide-ranging experience in assisting his clients with their personal and business affairs. Fred is a life member of the Baycrest Hospital Men's Group, an organization serving seniors. He is also a past member of the Board of Directors of the Reena Foundation, an organization for mentally challenged youth and adults. At present, he is a director of Etobicoke Services for Seniors. Fred has joined with other community-minded experts in offering retirement planning seminars for people who are looking for advice in planning a well-ordered and comfortable future. Murray Lightman (Partner) born Toronto; admitted to bar, 1977, Ontario. Education: University of Toronto (B.A., 1971); Osgoode Hall Law School (LL.B.). MURRAY E. LIGHTMAN B.A., L.L.B. After graduating with an Honours degree from the University of Toronto in 1971, Murray Lightman attended Osgoode Hall Law School, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1977. Murray joined forces with Fred Levitt in 1977, and they have worked together, complementing each other's practices since then. Murray's area of expertise is family law. He has extensive experience both at the trial and appellate levels. Murray's philosophy is to be reasonable when possible; aggressive when necessary. Murray devotes a great deal of time to community and professional concerns. He is currently on the Area Committee for Legal Aid in Etobicoke. Murray is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada. For many years, Murray coached the firm sponsored girls' hockey team, the Legal Eagles of the Swansea Girls' Hockey League. Murray is currently a volunteer with Culturelink, assisting recent immigrants to Toronto, Canada in improving their English language skills. Richard Levitt (Associate) born Toronto; admitted to bar, 2003, Ontario. Education: University of Western Ontario (B.A., 1998); Osgoode Hall Law School (LL.B., 2002). RICHARD LEVITT B.A., L.L.B. Richard graduated with honours at the University of Western Ontario in 1998, and went on to graduate from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2002. While attending Osgoode, Richard was a founding member of the Small Claims Court Information Clinic and assisted the public with Court forms and procedure. In his final year of law school, Richard attended the Monash Law School in Melbourne Australia, where he volunteered twice a week at the Springvale Legal Clinic and provided legal services to low-income clients in disadvantaged communities. After articling for a boutique real estate law firm, Richard joined Levitt, Lightman, Dewar & Graham LLP in December 2003. Since joining the firm, Richard's broadening areas of practice include commercial and residential real estate law, corporate law and wills and estates. Most recently, Richard has lectured in the area of corporate law at the Toronto Business Development Centre to participants enrolled in the Ontario Self-Employment Benefit Program Dean's Honour List, University of Western Ontario.
