Leave a review about your experience with this lawyer.I tried to have adoption papers typed up to sign. He didn't fill out the paperwork at all, so there was nothing to sign. He did not put the correct information in the court papers relating to child support.
Jay M. Lopez did not follow and communicate my requests to the opposing party. He did not provide accurate information about what I should expect and he did not provide enough information for the process.
Let’s just say the guy isn’t a quality lawyer. Once he gets his money it’s a wrap. He leaves key descriptions out of writing so if you want to fight for something that you’re entitled to you’ll have to retain him again in order to get anything taken care of which should have been taken care of the first time. Wouldn’t recommend him to anyone.
I hired Mr. Lopez for a custody case. His father Jose is a outstanding attorney however to my disappointment it seems none of those genes made their way to Jay. Jay lacks any skills a good attorney possess is the nicest way I can put it. He has very limited knowledge of family law and is spineless cowering in the presence of opposing counsel. He accomplished nothing other than prolonging and contributing to the abuse my children. Do not trust Jay with the fate of you children!
I found that it was very difficult to communicate with Jay. Never received a return call from him, and minimal email responses. His record keeping was sloppy (a yellow folder for my ENTIRE case), and no memory of facts from one meeting to the next. I was forced to terminate the service. His brother Justin then sued me in small claims court for billed time after termination. They faked service of court papers and got a summary judgement for something I knew nothing about. BEWARE...
Made false promises and once he got my money everything changed. Very immature and acted like my case was a joke. 2 months after my case, I still had not received the court documents pertaining to my case. I called and left my concerns of such on his answering machine. No phone call or paperwork was ever received. His father needs to step in and give him some lessons on "How to be a good attorney". At the rate he's going, their law practice will get a bad reputation! I would NEVER recommend him
