    Case Studies: Stahl v. Coshocton County , ___ Fed. Appx. ____ (6th Cir. 2018)
    Claim: Following multiple pursuits, deputies approached David Stahl's truck to try
    apprehend him. Mr. Stahl drove his truck directly towards a deputy on foot. The deputy shot
    killed Mr. Stahl. The family of Mr. Stahl sued
    alleged excessive force
    deliberate indifference to medical needs for care rendered after the shooting. Ultimately, over 20 deputies
    medics were named as defendants.
    Result: Summary judgment was granted
    upheld for all defendants.
    Tinney v. Richl
    County , 678 Fed. Appx. 362 (6th Cir. 2017)
    Claim: Plaintiff claimed that investigators
    prosecutors coerced his murder confession which, in turn, led to Plaintiff's conviction
    imprisonment. Plaintiff alleged malicious prosecution
    due process violations.
    Result: Summary judgment was granted
    upheld for all defendants.
    LeFever v. Ferguson , 645 Fed. Appx. 438 (6th Cir. 2016)
    Claim: Plaintiff claimed, inter alia, that county coroner fabricated evidence which led to Plaintiff's conviction
    imprisonment for the murder of her husb
    . Plaintiff alleged various constitutional violations.
    Result: Summary judgment granted
    upheld for coroner
    county.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.
