Lopez McHugh, LLP was founded in 2007 by Ramon Rossi Lopez, founder and former managing partner of the national law firm Lopez, Hodes, Restaino, Milman & Skikos, and James J. McHugh, Jr., former partner of The Beasley Firm in Philadelphia. The partners of Lopez McHugh collectively have been practicing law successfully for close to 75 years, with case verdicts and settlements totaling in excess of one billion dollars.

Ramon Lopez and Jim McHugh both bring to the firm significant backgrounds in extensive litigation and trial practice, in the many areas of consumer rights, including the following mass tort litigations: Fen-Phen, Breast Implants, Baycol, Rezulin, Sulzer Hips/Knees, PPA, Ephedra, Propulsid, Zyvox, and Zyprexa. Ramon Lopez has served or presently serves in leadership positions on plaintiffs' steering or executive committees in various federal multi-district mass tort litigations and state-coordinated mass tort actions around the country. Ramon Lopez was one of four lead plaintiff lawyer negotiators in the Zyprexa litigation, whose efforts resulted in an unprecedented $700 million settlement on behalf of clients from approximately 15 separate law firms, 25% of whose clients were retained by Mr. Lopez's former firm.
