Mr. Cashill received his A.B. from the University of Notre Dame in 1966 and his J.D. from the University of Colorado in 1969. Mr. Cashill was an Assistant United States Attorney in Las Vegas, Nevada, from 1970 to 1971, was then appointed as a Special Attorney with the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section of the United States Department of Justice, and was assigned to the St. Louis Strike Force, where he served from 1971 to 1973. Mr. Cashill was the first Nevadan appointed to serve as a special attorney serving in the Organized Crime section of the United States Department of Justice. The Cashill Law Firm was begun by Pat Cashill's father, William John Cashill (1914-1960), B.A. University of Nevada, 1937, LL.B Harvard University, 1940, who served as the Speaker of the Nevada State Assembly during the 1941 session of the Nevada Legislature. William J. Cashill founded the firm upon his return from service in the United States Navy during W.W. II. The senior Mr. Cashill specialized in advising and forming business entities, in representing and counseling clients before state and federal courts in Nevada, in appearing before both the Nevada Legislature and the Congress of the United States, and in representing clients before both state and federal governmental agencies.
