Susan Ann Koenig (Principal) born Columbus, Nebraska, December 9, 1955; admitted to bar, 1981, Nebraska and U.S. District Court, District of Nebraska. Education: Drake University (B.A., magna cum laude, 1977); Northeastern University (J.D., 1981). When Susan became a Professional Certified Coach, people asked, "How could you go from lawyering to life coaching?" But Susan sees the two roles aren't that far apart. Wearing either hat, Susan is a fierce advocate, focused on what is most important to her clients, developing a plan consistent with her client's values, and are fully supporting them to reach their goals. Whether it is how to help their children have the healthiest transition to living in two homes or advocating to ensure her client has a secure retirement, Susan is passionate about what her clients really want most. As a Certified Family Law Mediator and a Certified Collaborative Attorney, Susan believes in pursuing satisfying negotiated settlements whenever possible. If litigation is unavoidable, Susan is a tenacious litigator, bringing her 25 years of success in the courtroom. Susan authored Divorce in Nebraska: Understandable Answers to Your Legal Questions (Addicus Publishing) to make the divorce process easier for her clients. Her work also appears in the Creighton Law Review, The Nebraska Lawyer, St. Louis Public Law Review, and the National Women Lawyers Journal. Angela Dunne Tiritilli (Partner) born 1975; admitted to bar, 2000, Nebraska; U.S. District Court, District of Nebraska. Education: Nebraska Wesleyan University (B.A., English Literature, 1997); University of Nebraska at Lincoln College of Law (J.D., 2000). When Angela was a little girl, she loved playing school. That could explain why today one of Angela's favorite ways to support her clients is by removing the "unknowns" of the legal process. Whether it is understanding their options, what happens in the courtroom, or simply the meaning of words like "deposition" and "interrogatory," Angela enjoys educating her clients to help them achieve the best possible outcome. Angela's love of educating isn't limited to clients, judges, or other lawyers. She is an adjunct faculty member at the College of St. Mary's where she teaches family law, legal research and writing, and law office administration. As a mother of two, Angela understands the hardships parents face in making difficult choices and compromises when it comes to their children. The inspiration for her work comes from her clients whom she sees overcoming the challenges of their changing families and changing futures. Angela has a special interest in representing victims of domestic violence. Angela worked with survivors of domestic violence at the Friendship Home in Lincoln, Nebraska where she was an English Literature major at Nebraska Wesleyan University and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree. Angela received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Nebraska Law College. Angela is co-author of "Advocacy of Nebraska Children with Gay and Lesbian Parents: A Call for the Best Interest of the Child to be Paramount in the Case of Non-Biological, Non-Adoptive Parents" in the Creighton Law Review. Despite her passion for teaching writing in the legal arena, Angela confesses that she has the most fun when she's teaching her daughters how to write just about anything that can be written in Crayola. Member: Omaha, Nebraska State and American Bar Associations; Nebraska Women's Bar Association. Practice Areas: Family Law; Estate Planning; Divorce.Email: Angela Dunne Tiritilli
