About Merle L. Silverstein

Merle Silverstein joined the firm as a partner in 1956 after finishing first in his class at Washington University Law School and serving as a Captain in the Judge Advocate of the United States Air Force, where he was in active duty in Korea in 1952 and 1953.

Merle practices in the firm's litigation department in all areas of civil litigation, focusing primarily on domestic matters and contract disputes. In addition, over his fifty plus years of trial experience, he has handled almost all types of civil litigation in all levels of Federal and State courts, including the United States Supreme Court.

Merle has been honored in the publication "The Best Lawyers in America" every year since 1993. In 2004, Merle received the Metropolitan Bar Association of St. Louis Distinguish Lawyer Award.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*
