The present firm is the successor to a partnership formed in 1878 known as Birchett & Gilland. Through the years, the name was changed to reflect the principals of the firm then in active practice. In 1892, the firm became Birchett, Shelton & Brunini, later, Brunini, Everett, Grantham & Quin (Vicksburg office) and, in 1973, Brunini, Everett Beanland & Wheeless. The firm was known as Wheeless, Beanland, Shappley & Bailess from 1979 until 1996, when its present name was adopted. Through the many years of its existence, the firm has been considered one of the leaders in the legal community and the firm's attorneys have continually provided a wide range of legal services generally in the areas of business, banking, corporate, real estate and probate law.
