Welcome to Minnesota's Family Lawyer, where analysis and reasoning is used to solve problems, generate options and create a positive atmosphere for a settlement. I am a family law attorney and a mediator. I live and work in Chanhassen, Minnesota, and practice law in the Twin Cities metro area. I see my role as that of a "guide" through the legal system - educating my clients as to their legal rights and obligations, and assisting them in formulating a plan based on the facts of their particular family situation.

My Philosophy
I believe in the importance of the family, and the need for children to have access to both parents. Divorce should be considered only as a last resort, and should never be an option until after a couple has sought counseling to try to resolve their conflicts, either through their pastor, a marriage counselor, or other trained professional.
Divorce need not sever family relationships. As a trained Collaborative1 lawyer, Collaborative Team2 lawyer and mediator, I am able to assist individuals who want to resolve their family conflicts with respect and fairness, setting the stage for on-going communication. I have found that peaceful settlements can be attained by utilizing (neutral) experts hired by the agreement of both parties, when needed.
