The firm traces its origin to its founder, Arthur H. Johnson, who commenced practicing law in 1948. In 1964, Mr. Johnson and the Burnquist Law Firm merged, becoming Johnson, Burnquist, Flattery and McCormick. Mr. Johnson died in 2009. Former partners in the firm have become both Iowa Supreme Court Justices and Iowa District Court Justices. Present partners in the firm have served as officers and board members of state and local bar associations as well as numerous community boards and organizations. The firm provides experienced attorneys at the shareholder level and well-trained and supervised associate attorneys and legal assistants.
