Michael C. Rosenblat (Principal) admitted to bar, 1985, Illinois and U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois including Trial Bar; 2004, Capital Litigation Trial Bar. Education: University of Illinois (B.A., Political Science, 1982); John Marshall Law School (J.D., 1985). Mr. Rosenblat is a principal in Rosenblat & Associates, Ltd. and practices criminal defense, false claims act, qui tam, whistleblower protection, and civil rights law. Prior to opening his own firm, Mr. Rosenblat served as an Army Judge Advocate General at Ft. Lewis, Washington and in Saudi Arabia. Mr. Rosenblat left active duty and became an Assistant Attorney General with the Illinois Attorney General's Office in Chicago. At the Attorney General's Office, Mr. Rosenblat served as Deputy Chief Medicaid Fraud, Deputy Chief Criminal Prosecutions, and Deputy Bureau Chief, Special Litigation Bureau. In private practice, Mr. Rosenblat represented consumers in the Ford/Firestone Tire Litigation, Superior Bank underinsured depositors' litigation, and Enron Securities Litigation. In addition, Mr. Rosenblat was the first lawyer retained by Cleveland Tyson, in the prosecution of Amerigroup, which resulted in a $225 million settlement. Mr. Rosenblat was also selected to defend Jeff Pelo a Bloomington Police Officer charged with raping four women. In addition, Mr. Rosenblat co-authored an article on the Illinois Whistleblower Reward and Protection Act, has spoken before groups concerning false claims issues, criminal defense and search and seizure, appeared on the local cable show "Newsmakers" to discuss prescription drug pricing and appeared on "Fox News Live" to discuss the Michael Jackson trial, he is quoted in the Wall Street Journal relating to health care fraud, and was a panelist at the Willis Managed Care Organization Round Table on November 12, 2008.
