David A. Wargula (Of Counsel) born Platteville, Wisconsin, May 23, 1967; admitted to bar, 1995, Illinois and U.S. District Court, Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois; U.S. District Court, Northern District of Indiana; U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin. Education: University of Arizona (B.S., 1989); DePaul University (J.D., 1995). Mr. Wargula has been helping businesses solve problems throughout his legal career, inside and out. His experience working for law firms and as in-house counsel gives Mr. Wargula a broad perspective which enables him to focus on his client's needs first - without losing sight of the legal consequences that even an everyday business decision can set into motion.
Before joining Dressler Peters, Mr. Wargula was unit general counsel for MarCap Corporation, a leading healthcare lender. Mr. Wargula interacted on a daily, intensive basis with every level of MarCap's management to effect the growth, and ultimately the sale of the company in a dynamic, competitive, yet closely regulated industry. Mr. Wargula counseled MarCap on a wide variety of matters, including workouts, transactional due diligence and negotiation, healthcare regulatory compliance and day-to-day corporate issues.
Prior to working "in-house", Mr. Wargula represented many businesses, from national banks and lenders to local companies involved in general business disputes. He assisted his clients in numerous capacities, particularly with workouts, collection and bankruptcy matters. He also performed transactional reviews and other general business representation for his clients and has litigated in state, federal and bankruptcy courts nationwide.
Mr. Wargula received his undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Arizona in 1989 and his J.D. from the De Paul University College of Law in 1995.
