DiTommaso-Lubin specializes in handling complex commercial litigation and consumer class actions. Courts have appointed Mr. DiTommaso, or Mr. Lubin lead or co-lead counsel in over 100 hundred contested or settlement class actions in Illinois and across the country. In 2005, Crain's Chicago Business ranked the settlement achieved by DiTommaso-Lubin as co-lead counsel in the Erickson v. SBC class action as the 3rd highest settlement/verdict achieved in Illinois by a law firm for 2004. In 2008, DiTommaso-Lubin received the first "Law Firm of the Year" awarded by the DuPage County Bar Legal Assistance Foundation for the Firm's "Commitment to the ideals of the legal profession." The Chief Judge of the Seventh Circuit invited Mr. Lubin to be one of the founding members of the Markey-Wigmore Chapter of the American Inns of Court. Mr. DiTommaso is Past President (2001), and Member of the Executive Committee (2001-2002) of the Justinian Society of Lawyers. In 1996, the Chief Judge of DuPage County Illinois appointed Mr. DiTommaso to the Judicial Evaluation Committee for the selection and evaluation of DuPage County Judges. In 1998, the Illinois Attorney General appointed Mr. DiTommaso as Special Assistant Attorney General to act as Counsel for Illinois State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka. The Director of the University of Chicago Law School's Mandel Legal Aid Clinic has invited Mr. Lubin and Mr. DiTommaso to teach trial and litigation skills to second and third year law students who participate in the Law School's clinical training programs.
