In 1973 Richard Rost became resident Counsel for the firm on Maui, and in 1975, the law firm of Padgett & Rost was formed on Maui. In 1980 that firm dissolved when Frank D. Padgett was named a Judge of the newly formed Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals. Richard Rost has maintained a practice under his own name.
