Among a variety of legal matters, J. Melvin England and John W. England do extensive trial and appellate work in federal and state courts. In addition to substantial experience in private practice, England is a former FBI agent and trial district attorney. In civil cases they represent plaintiffs and defendants. In 1990, Mel England, who has tried cases before 248 separate juries, obtained a jury verdict of $8.5 million compensatory damages in a products liability case, a record in Georgia for compensatory damages at that time. The firm also represents citizens who are prosecuted in federal and state courts and represents plaintiffs and defendants in law enforcement related civil rights cases.
