Robert Ervin began practicing law in Tallahassee in 1947 and established the firm which is now Ervin, Kitchen & Ervin, and with which he continues as counsel consultant. Wilfred C. Varn, now of counsel, joined the firm in 1961, and Thomas M. Ervin, Jr., now senior partner, joined the firm in 1968. Today the firm consists of six attorneys and represents clients throughout Florida and the nation. The firm's primary focus has traditionally been on litigation, with an emphasis on business, commercial, governmental and administrative litigation and criminal defense. The firm has also had extensive experience in state and federal appellate courts, often serving as appellate co-counsel with trial lawyers throughout Florida. The firm also engages in the representation of clients before state agencies, and provides a full range of services relating to commercial transactions, personal legal affairs and governmental regulatory matters.
