Biography
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1970, Debra Potter Klauber is a graduate of the University of Florida (B.S. Finance 1992, J.D. 1995 cum laude). Mrs. Klauber is a member of The Florida Bar, where she is a member of the Appellate Practice and Health Law Sections. She is also admitted to practice in the federal courts in the Southern District of Florida (1998), the Middle District of Florida (1999), the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals (1997) and the United States Supreme Court (2003). Mrs. Klauber, formerly a law clerk to judge Thomas H. Barkdull, Jr. at the Third District Court of Appeal, concentrates on appellate practice and litigation support in various areas of the law. She has extensive experience with insurance coverage, medical malpractice and physician credentialing issues. Her practice also includes general commercial and employment litigation and consulting, as well as administrative and legal matters involving local government and school district clients. She has experience in all District Courts of Appeal in Florida, the Supreme Court of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Her professional activities include active participation as a former board member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Broward County Bar Association, a member of the Appellate Section of the Broward County Bar Association. She currently sits as a member of the Appellate Court Rules Committee and is on a Florida Bar Grievance Committee serving the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. An alumnus of Leadership Broward (Class XX), Mrs. Klauber has been actively involved in her community as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, the Women of Tomorrow, a youth mentoring partnership with the School Board of Broward County, and has raised tens of thousands of dollars to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
