Complaint Regarding Dye Harrison I am filing this complaint to document my dissatisfaction with Dye Harrison’s handling of a legitimate legal request. I contacted the firm seeking assistance in establishing a trust for my mother under her durable power of attorney. The DPOA expressly authorizes trust creation, and the purpose was to protect a vulnerable beneficiary while preserving my mother’s established estate plan.The firm declined to assist, stating they were “uncomfortable” because my brother might challenge the trust. This conclusion was made without asking any questions about his background, capacity, or actual likelihood of initiating litigation. My brother is a long‑term drug addict and alcoholic with no financial resources, no legal sophistication, and no realistic ability to contest anything. The firm did not inquire about these facts, did not evaluate the situation, and did not perform any meaningful due diligence before refusing service.Their refusal was based on speculati

I approached Dye Harrison to create a trust for my mother under her durable power of attorney. The DPOA clearly gives me the authority to establish and fund a trust, and the purpose was to protect a financially vulnerable beneficiary while keeping my mother’s estate plan exactly as she intended.The firm refused to proceed, stating they were uncomfortable creating a trust under a DPOA, even though the document explicitly authorizes it. Their reluctance left me without needed legal support and forced me to find another attorney.In my experience, the firm was not helpful, did not offer alternatives, and did not seem familiar with the scope of authority granted in a properly drafted Florida DPOA
