Campbell & Levine, LLC traces its origins to the professional association of Doug Campbell and Stanley Levine in 1978. Since then, the firm has concentrated its practice in the area of insolvency law, evolving from representing individual debtors and trustees in "no-asset" bankruptcy cases to representing debtors, creditors and creditors' committees in literally thousands of cases, including each of the largest reorganization cases filed in the Western District of Pennsylvania. Learning how to analyze and solve the problems presented by insolvency from the "bottom up" has allowed the firm to develop an approach to the law that is incisive, pragmatic, resourceful and professional. The firm consists of 15 lawyers, each of whom is experienced in the field of insolvency, including the kinds of litigation normally associated with the practice area. It has consciously limited its growth over the years to ensure a high quality of service from veteran practitioners who understand insolvency, both theoretically and practically. A biographical sketch of each of its lawyers is attached. Doug Campbell, Stanley Levine and David Salzman have been included among the ten bankruptcy lawyers in Western Pennsylvania named in the Best Lawyers in America. Doug Campbell and Stanley Levine have also been elected as Fellows of the American College of Bankruptcy and in 2004 were both recognized as one of the top 50 Super Lawyers in Pittsburgh by balloting, research and blue ribbon review conducted by the publishers of Philadelphia Magazine. The firm, Doug Campbell, Stanley Levine and David Salzman each received Martindale-Hubbell's highest legal ability rating for the last 10 consecutive years.
