Accepts Credit Cards The law firm of Cannata, Ching & O'Toole LLP is a San Francisco bay area based office serving businesses and individuals throughout northern California. We are headquartered in San Francisco's financial district with an office in downtown Walnut Creek for the convenience of our clients in the East Bay. We represent large and small businesses, public agencies, and individuals (contractors, homeowners, and private investors). We also provide legal services to real estate professionals, attorneys, doctors, dentists, engineers, executors and trustees. Our mission is to provide unparalleled service, excellent legal work, and cost-effective representation. We offer proven trial and transactional law experience together with a commitment to provide creative solutions to complex problems. We involve our clients in every stage of their case, regularly reporting on the status and promptly responding to all inquiries; at our firm, client communication is paramount. We want our clients to not only feel that they are getting the most experienced and professional service available but also that they have complete and personal access to their attorney at all times. We have three core practice areas in our firm: Trial Practice Group, Transactional Practice Group, and Green Business Law Group. Our Trial Practice Group brings to our clients three decades of civil and criminal jury trial experience. We have litigated cases throughout northern California, in state and federal courts, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings. Our civil trial work includes business disputes, commercial transactions, real estate issues (title disputes, easements, construction defects), products liability, probate, trust, and professional liability defense. We also represent businesses and individuals in civil and criminal environmental law cases. We provide complete and well-organized trial preparation together with a litigation plan that assesses the potential risks, benefits and costs of the proposed or pending litigation. We encourage settlement by early identification of litigation objectives and regular discussion of the options presented as a case proceeds. However, if a case must go to trial, we have the skills and proven track record of successful jury verdicts to competently represent our clients in the courtroom. Our Transactional Practice Group has counseled and represented clients in a wide range of sophisticated transactional matters including all aspects of real estate and business/corporate transactions, professional practice transitions, land use and title, estate planning and trust administration, business entity and corporate oversight, restructuring, contracts and leasing, buy-outs, and tax exempt organizations. We also work with individuals and businesses to negotiate and document real property purchases and sales, bringing to the table our substantial knowledge of title and escrow practices. In 2005, we started our Green Business Law Group in response to a growing demand from our clients for an interdisciplinary approach to the particular legal problems presented by the complex and developing environmental regulations. "Green" businesses face altogether new and often unclear regulatory requirements. Traditional agricultural and industrial businesses must meet the challenge of adopting cost-effective "Green" business practices. We combine our extensive knowledge of businesses, administrative law, land use, and environmental regulations to serve companies involved in composting, recycling, waste management, disposal of agricultural waste, and renewable energy alternatives. We review compliance issues, assist with regulatory agency approvals, and represent businesses in administrative proceedings before public agencies. We help our clients understand what is being demanded of them by regulatory agencies by bringing both sides together to develop an acceptable compliance plan. We then work with business owners and their staff to change operations so that regulatory compliance becomes the most cost-effective business option. At Cannata, Ching & O'Toole LLP, we incorporate time-honored rules of customer service and professionalism with a thoroughly modern approach to meet the needs of our individual clients and businesses in a highly competitive marketplace. Our clients define and direct the scope of our work and we are here to serve. Within the firm, each of our attorneys represent a diversity of interests and backgrounds. We invite you to review the attorney profiles and firm practice areas to determine how we can assist you with your legal needs.
