Additional Bio DetailsDouglas B. Davidson has practiced law in Orange County for more than 36 years. He has represented clients in a wide variety of corporate, real estate and finance transactions. In the mid-1990s he was in-house counsel for two financial institutions where he developed expertise in real estate workouts.

Mr. Davidson is a 1973 graduate of Hastings College of the Law (Order of the Coif and Law Journal), and a 1968 graduate of the University of California, Irvine.

Mr. Davidson started his legal career at the Orange County office of Kindel & Anderson, where his work focused primarily in the areas of corporate, real estate and finance.

After 1977 Mr. Davidson practiced with several Orange County law firms before forming Corbett, Steelman & Davidson where he continued practicing in the corporate, real estate, finance and franchise fields and developed an expertise representing restaurants.

In 1985, Mr. Davidson left private practice to become the in-house lawyer for Rusty Pelican Restaurants.

During the early to mid-90s, Mr. Davidson was in-house counsel to several companies that owned troubled real estate assets from the “S&L Crisis.” During this period, Mr. Davidson restructured or disposed of assets ranging in value from $1 Million to over $110 Million.

Since the mid-90s, Mr. Davidson has owned his own business in the hospitality industry and at the same time has practiced law in the general business litigation area.

Mr. Davidson has graduated from the UCI Extension Program in Conflict Management and Use of ADR and is a Certified Dispute Resolution Act Programs Mediator. Mr. Davidson also serves on the ADR panel of the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Mr. Davidson is a member of the Orange County Superior Court civil mediation and early neutral evaluation panels.

Mr. Davidson has also served as an investigator for employer-employee disputes for several school districts in Southern California.

Mr. Davidson is active in supporting UC Irvine. He has been President of UCI’s Alumni Association, UCI’s Chancellor’s Club and was UCI’s Distinguished Alumnus in 1986. Mr. Davidson also served as a member of the President’s Committee to Select a New Chancellor for UCI in 1984.

Mr. Davidson lives in Irvine with his wife Barbara.
