Mr. Ellis has practiced law in Saline County for over 35 years. He regularly tries cases in federal and state courts. He is licensed in the state of Arkansas, and is a member of the bars of the Arkansas Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He serves on the Federal Practice Committee for the Eastern District of Arkansas. Before establishing his present practice, he was with a firm concentrating on insurance defense and large plaintiff cases. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Ellis is active in civic affairs. He is a past president of the Benton Chamber of Commerce, and chairs the Benton Planning Commission. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Downtown Benton. He is a member and past Chairman of the Saline County Library Board of Trustees, and is a member of the Arkansas State Library Board. Mr. Ellis is a frequent lecturer on professional ethics, trial and appellate practice, constitutional law, and public policy.
